How do I get there?

Guayaquil is well-connected with the world, through its award-winning airport – just ten minutes’ drive from the hotel. There are daily and regular flights connecting major cities in South and Central America, as well as good connections with North America (via Miami, New York, Houston and Atlanta) and Europe (direct from Madrid and Amsterdam).

Can Hotel del Parque arrange transfers from the airport?

Hotel staff can arrange transportation to and from the airport upon request.

Is Hotel del Parque in Guayaquil?

Hotel del Parque might feel miles away from the real world, but it is in fact just a ten minute drive from the airport, in Guayaquil’s exclusive riverside San Borondon neighbourhood. The city centre is accessible in around 15 minutes.

How do I get to the Galápagos Islands from Hotel del Parque?

Flights from the José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport (10 minutes from Hotel del Parque) go direct to the island of Baltra in a flight time of under two hours. Onward travel to your hotel or cruise is by boat.

Is the park open every day?

The park is open to the public from Wednesday to Sunday, 9AM – 5PM. Guests of Hotel del Parque have exclusive access to the park on Monday and Tuesday, and when the park is closed to the public.

What kind of animals can I expect to see?

There are more than 50 species of birds, mammals, and other animals in the natural areas of Parque Histórico. Living among the three distinct ecosystems recreated in the grounds are birds like parrots, endangered harpy eagles, toucans, and masked ducks; mammals like sloths, ocelots, deer, spider monkeys, tapirs and collared peccaries; and reptiles such as coastal crocodiles and spectacled caimans. A team of expert guides, in addition to those provided by the park, will be on hand for tours.

I see that Hotel del Parque is on the riverside. Can I take a boat to and from the hotel?

Hotel del Parque is indeed on the banks of the Daule River. Although the hotel does not operate its own river activities, tours are sometimes available through the Ministry of Tourism.

Is the spa free?

Beauty and relaxation treatments are available in the quirky wood-beamed bell tower with 360 degree views of the park for an additional fee.

What is there to do at Hotel del Parque?

Aside from relaxing in the tropical seclusion of Hotel del Parque, there are a number of cultural, culinary, and nature experiences available to guests: a visit the wildlife sanctuary, a delicious chocolate experience, hands-on coffee roasting, and an introduction to the healing herbs of Ecuador.

Is the hotel child-friendly?

Children are more than welcome at Hotel del Parque. They can take part in a scavenger hunt around the park, in which they take photos when they’ve spotted a checklist of rare plants and wildlife. Kids can then print them out back in the hotel. A children’s menu is available on request.

Can I bring my pet?

Hotel del Parque does not accept pets, but guests can enjoy the wide variety of animals around the park!

Is Wi-Fi access included?

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.

Does Hotel del Parque provide breakfast?

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as afternoon teas are served in the riverside restaurant.

Is room service available?

Room service is available 24 hours.

Is Hotel del Parque available for hire for special events?

With its own delightful chapel, fantastic restaurant and romantic views along the river, Hotel del Parque is the perfect place to hold your wedding, to renew your vows, or hold a stunning gathering with family and friends. The church and certain areas of the hotel are available for hire for events.

I have food allergies, is Hotel del Parque safe for me?

All food requirements can be catered for by the restaurant staff. Please advise the team before arrival.

What are check-in and check-out times?

Check in is at 2PM and check out is at 12PM.

Are there many plug sockets in the room?

There are multiple outlets near the nightstands including USB plugs on both sides of the bed, multiple plugs at the desk and throughout the room.

What amenities are there in the room?

In each room, guests will find a minibar, alarm clock, safety deposit box, complimentary coffee and tea (French press, water kettle), welcome amenity for all guests, and bathrobe and slippers in the bathroom. Hypo-allergenic bedding is available on request.

Is there a concierge service?

Hotel del Parque is pleased to offer a 24-hour concierge service to assist guests with any element of their trip.

Do I need any specific vaccinations to visit Guayaquil?

Although there are no vaccination requirements for Guayaquil, the U.S. State Department advises for travel to Ecuador: “The Centers for Disease Control advises travelers to “make sure you are up-to-date on routine vaccines before every trip. These vaccines include measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine, diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis vaccine, varicella (chickenpox) vaccine, polio vaccine, and your yearly flu shot.” In addition, Ecuadorian authorities might require you to show a certificate of yellow fever vaccination when entering or leaving the Amazon Basin area, or when continuing travel to other areas of South America. If possible, you should obtain a yellow fever vaccine prior to departure from the United States.”
